
TRU basketball teams fall to Trinity Western at home
KAMLOOPS — Both Thompson Rivers University (TRU) WolfPack basketball teams fell to the Trinity Western Sparts at the Tournament Capital Centre (TCC) Thursday (Jan. 16) night.
The WolfPack men’s team, needing a win to create breathing room between themselves and the Spartans in the Canada West Pacific Division standings, lost 87-78. The WolfPack trailed 40-29 at half then cut the deficit to three points after the third quarter, but the Spartans eventually pulled away with the win.
Third-year guard Cyrus Harrison led the WolfPack in scoring with 12 points on four-for-six shooting while adding five rebounds and three assists. Second-year guard Dami Farinloye led the team in rebounds with 10, while adding nine points and three assists.
The WolfPack women’s team fell 67-33. Fourth-year guard Danijela Kovacevic led the team in scoring with 12 points on five-for-16 shooting, while adding three rebounds and two assists. First-year forward Morgan Eichenberger led the team with nine rebounds, while adding three points and three assists.
