Weekend for Kamloops RCMP includes mischief, pair of impaired collisions

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP responded to approximately 306 calls for service from Friday, Jan. 10 to 9:00 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 13, 2024. Below are some incidents police attended.

Garden bed collision

A woman lost her license for 90 days and had her vehicle impounded after a collision with a garden bed on the North Shore.

RCMP say officers were called to the 2700-block of Tranquille Road at around 7:35 a.m. Friday where a white sedan had crashed into a concrete garden bed.

Police gave the driver, who was uninjured, roadside breath tests and they showed readings of “Fail,” indicating a blood alcohol content exceeding .08.

Mischief

Tk’emlups Rural RCMP arrested a woman after she reportedly damaged property at a home at around 11:10 a.m. Friday.

Officers responded to the 700-block of Kamloopa Road where a person known to the property owner reportedly damaged a vehicle and a window.

The woman was later released with conditions and a court date.

Rural Kamloops crash

Tk’emlups Rural RCMP also responded to the Trans Canada Highway at Big Sky Road at around 9:45 p.m. Friday where a driver crashed his vehicle.

Police gave the driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, roadside breath tests, where he was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

The man’s vehicle was impounded, and he was given a three-day driving prohibition.
