SUN PEAKS, B.C. — RCMP would like your help tracking down a man suspected of stealing skis from a Sun Peaks hotel.

In a news release, Tk’emlups Rural RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says the theft was reported at about 5:00 p.m. last Thursday (Jan. 9). A set of black and fluorescent yellow Rossignal skis were taken from a hotel on Alpine Road.

“Police have obtained and are releasing images of the suspect to the public in an effort to help further the investigation,” said Evelyn.

This is not the first winter sports gear theft of the season. Evelyn says the Tk’emlups Rural detachment has received several reports of such thefts and she advises people to keep their gear secured. To help police recover stolen equipment and return it its proper home, Evelyn advises owners to take down serial numbers and consider engraving unique markings into the gear.

Anyone who can identify the suspect or who has any further information on this incident is asked to contact Tk’emlups Rural RCMP at (250) 314-1800 and refer to file number 2025-823.
