Judge reserves decision in court challenge to Build Kamloops alternative approval process

KAMLOOPS — It was a long day in court for the City of Kamloops on Wednesday (Jan. 15) as its lawyers faced a petition from local resident Katherine Wunderlich with regards to the alternative approval process (AAP) used to gain public approval of the first phase of the Build Kamloops plan. Wunderlich’s challenge argued that the AAP, which granted the city authorization for long term loans to build a performing arts centre and multi-plex arena, did not meet requirements to properly notify the public.

After hearing the arguments, the presiding judge chose to reserve his decision for a later date.

Both parties declined to comment following the hearing.
