Freezing rain warning in effect for the Cariboo Tuesday morning
WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Drivers in the Cariboo could face slick conditions on their morning commute.
Environment Canada issued a freezing rain warning for the Cariboo Tuesday (Jan. 14) morning. It covers the communities of Quesnel and Williams Lake and goes as far north as the Hixon area and as far south as the Lac La Hache area.
“A frontal system is moving into interior B.C. today. As surface temperatures hover near zero degrees Celsius, periods of mixed precipitation with a risk of freezing rain are expected over central interior regions this morning. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery,” Environment Canada states.
Residents are asked to take extra care when driving or walking in affected areas and adjust their driving with changing road conditions.
