Kamloops Fire Rescue exceeds 600 smoke alarm installation goal in 2024, with more on the way
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire Rescue surpassed one of its public safety goals in 2024, installing more than 600 smoke alarms in homes around the city.
The free smoke alarms were supplied through a one-year program with the Office of the Fire Commissioner and KFR’s own in-house program. And the installations proved to be extremely popular with local residents.
“Our crews did an amazing job. I think they accomplished it in less than two months. It was a yearlong program,” says Pont. “They were out there knocking on doors and visiting with residents, so we’re really proud of them for doing that and keeping Kamloops safe.”
