Harrison powers WolfPack men to win over UFV Cascades

ABBOTSFORD B.C. — Cyrus Harrison led the way with 25 points as the TRU WolfPack men’s basketball team beat the UFV Cascades 83-74 on Saturday (Jan. 11) night.

The Surrey native, who was 11-18 from the floor, also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds at the UFV Athletic Centre, as the WolfPack led for the vast majority of the game.

Simon Crossfield added 15 points, five rebounds, four assists and two blocks off the bench, while Asher Mayan, Dami Farinloye and Erin Chamble all had ten point nights for the WolfPack.

The win takes TRU to 6-6 on the season, which has them in sole possession of third place in the Canada West Pacific Division.

The winless WolfPack women continued to show signs of improvement, putting up 13 points in the final ten minutes of action, but they fell 67-32 to the 9-3 Cascades, who got nine points from Kamloops native Maddy Gobeil.

WolfPack veterans Danijela Kovacevic and Priyanca Sundher combined for 17 points while rookie Morgan Eichenberger added seven rebounds, two blocks and three steals.

The WolfPack basketball teams now turn their attention to their first home games of 2025. They’ll host the Trinity Western Spartans on Thursday (Jan. 16) before taking on the Victoria Vikes on Saturday.
