RCMP looking for wanted 30-year-old man

KAMLOOPS — UPDATE (Jan. 14): RCMP say Merritt has been located and arrested.

EARLIER: Police in Kamloops are asking for help in finding a 30-year-old wanted man.

RCMP say Lashway Andrew Merritt has a warrant for his arrest related to three counts of failure to comply with release orders.

“Although Lashway Merritt is currently reported as residing in Kamloops, he also has ties to the Williams Lake area,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said.

We are asking the public to please contact their local police detachment if they see him or have information on his whereabouts.”

Merritt is described as an Indigenous man, standing five-foot-eight, weighing approximately 270 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes. Police say he also has several tattoos:

• Left side of his neck: TSILHQOT’IN LEJAP
• Right hand: Hustle
• Left hand: Hard
• Left forearm: Lost chief?

People with information about Lashway Merritt’s whereabouts are being told to contact their nearest police detachment.
