Fog advisory in effect for Kamloops and area Monday morning
KAMLOOPS — Residents in Kamloops and area may have some visibility difficulties on their Monday (Jan. 6) morning commute.
Environment Canada issued a fog advisory for the 100 Mile, Cariboo, Shuswap and North and South Thompson regions, along with the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt and Highway 97 from Clinton to 100 Mile House.
According to the weather agency, atmospheric conditions are favourable for dense fog to form. While conditions are expected to improve late Monday morning, Environment Canada says travel is expected to be hazardous in some locations to start as visibility on the roadway may be suddenly and significantly reduced.
Drivers are asked to slow down, watch for taillights and be prepared to stop if their visibility is reduced while traveling.
