RCMP say open beer can found after single vehicle rollover near Lillooet
LILLOOET B.C. — Police in Lillooet say the driver of a vehicle that rolled over on Highway 12 earlier this week was arrested for impaired driving.
RCMP say officers who responded to the single-vehicle crash around 9:20 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, found an open beer can in the cup holder of the vehicle’s centre console.
“The driver declined medical attention and was spoken to,” the RCMP said in a news release Saturday (Jan. 4). “He emitted an odour of alcohol, he was arrested for impaired operation of a conveyance.”
Mounties say the unidentified driver subsequently failed two breathalyzer tests as he had alcohol above the legal limit in his system, though they did not specify how much.
