Kamloops youth allegedly threatened with firearm

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops RCMP are appealing to the public for video and information following an alleged threat that involved a firearm.
“On Saturday Dec. 28, 2024, around 7 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to a call for service in which a youth had allegedly been threatened with a firearm while on a trail earlier that day, around 4 p.m,” stated RCMP Spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.
“Upon receiving the report, officers attended and surveyed the area, obtained statements, and canvassed for video,” said Evelyn. “We are turning to the public in an attempt to obtain more security or dash camera footage, witnesses, and information that could help further the investigation.”
The youth was reportedly on a trail near Capilano Drive when they encountered the man who brandished the firearm before chasing the youth onto the road.
