Work to fix Savona water main break taking place Friday

SAVONA B.C. — Temporary repairs to fix a water main break on the Savona Community Water System will begin this morning, Dec. 27.

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) says the break occurred late Thursday afternoon, in the 6900-block of Savona Access Road.

It led to water being shutoff for about a dozen or so properties in Savona yesterday as crews worked to isolate the leak. The TNRD said all residents who were impacted directly by the water break were notified in-person last night.

It’s not clear when repairs will be completed.

“Crews will…ensure water service is restored as soon as possible for affected properties,
the TNRD said, in a statement.
