Snowfall warning issued for Boxing Day travel on the Coquihalla Highway

MERRITT, B.C. — Environment Canada has issued a Boxing Day snowfall warning for a section of the Coquihalla Highway.
In an alert issued at about 8:00 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 26), Environment Canada says the Hope-to-Merritt stretch of the Coquihalla can expect up to 15 centimetres of snow before the evening.
The forecaster says snow is expected to intensify near the Coquihalla Summit at about 12:00 noon, then ease throughout the afternoon until the evening.
The agency warns of reduced visibility and hazardous road conditions.
