No serious injuries after collision knocks concrete barriers out of place on Highway 1 in Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — There were no serious injuries reported following a notable collision that halted traffic on the Trans Canada Highway west of Valleyview Drive Sunday (Dec. 22) night.
DriveBC first reported of the vehicle incident on Highway 1 south of the Highway 5 bridge in Kamloops at around 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Nearly one hour later, DriveBC said eastbound traffic on Highway 1 near Exit 374 was reduced to a single lane so crews could reset the concrete barriers in the middle of the roadway.
Speaking to CFJC Today Monday morning, Kamloops RCMP S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet said a collision between a car and a semi-truck in the westbound lanes caused two concrete barriers to swing out into the eastbound lanes of Highway 1.
While another collision with a separate vehicle transpired due to the concrete barriers sticking out, Shoihet said there were still no serious injuries reported.
