Solar energy project near Logan Lake given the green light by BC Hydro
KAMLOOPS — A new solar-energy project is coming to the Logan Lake area.
The B.C. government announced the ShTSaQU Solar Project near Logan Lake will provide nearly 104 megawatts of capacity once operational. The partners for the project is BluEarth Renewables Inc. and Oregon Jack Creek First Nation.
In a news release issued Friday (Dec. 20), the province says one of the successful applications for the 2024 Call for Power announced on Dec. 9 voluntarily withdrew. The next-highest evaluated project in line for a 30-year electricity-purchase agreement was ShTSaQU.
It’s the third project in the Kamloops to be approved by BC Hydro for the 2024 Call for Power, joining Mount Mabel Wind and Highland Valley Wind which are located along the Coquihalla Highway near Merritt.
