Impromptu hockey game breaks out on traffic-snarled Coquihalla Highway

KAMLOOPS — Jeanine McFarlen and her son, Nicholas, were on their way home to Kamloops from BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver on Tuesday when an incident stopped traffic on the snowy Coquihalla.
Nicholas was bored and preparing to hunker down for the night when a bus full of vacationers heading toward Big White in Kelowna invited him to join an impromptu hockey game.
Traffic resumed and the McFarlens were home by 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
