Above-normal temperatures this week threaten white Christmas dreams in Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — One week before Christmas Day, it’s still not clear whether Kamloops will keep the blanket of snow it just received — the necessary element for a white Christmas.
Meteorologist Lisa Erven with Environment Canada says while most of Kamloops received a healthy dump of snow over the last few days, the temperature is forecast to be milder for the rest of the week, which could lead to significant melting.
However, Erven says those hoping for a white Christmas will be happy with the early forecast for next week.
“As we get into early next week, temperatures should start to cool off once again and we do have more weather systems on the way. They should be crossing the province every day or two. At this point, it’s really too close to tell whether or not any one of those systems will bring snow right down to the valley bottom.”
