Weekend for Kamloops RCMP includes stolen vehicle, stolen toys and shed break-in gone poor

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP responded to approximately 309 calls for service from Friday, Dec. 13 to 9:00 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 16, 2024. Below are some incidents police attended.

Vehicle left running, stolen

A 2010 gold Honda Accord was stolen from Sahali at around 7:00 p.m. Friday.

RCMP say the vehicle – with B.C. license plate WE3 60E – was left running with the keys in its ignition in a parking lot of the 1200-block of Summit Drive. Police say the driver was away from the vehicle for nearly 15 minutes.

Anyone with information that may be related to the investigation is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.

Electronics and toys stolen

RCMP are looking for information related to break-in to a home on the North Shore.

A person left their home at around 5:15 p.m. Friday and returned less than an hour to find X-Box consoles and remote-control trucks stolen.

Anyone who witnessed the theft, or has video or information related to it, is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP.

North Shore break-in suspects arrested

Elsewhere on the North Shore, two people were arrested during a break-in to a shed hours later.

Officers were called to the 200-block of Alder Avenue at around 8:00 p.m. Friday for the report of two people actively breaking into a shed.

The two were eventually arrested then released with a court date and conditions. Police anticipate charge recommendations.
