One man dead following single-vehicle crash near Pritchard; RCMP looking for video and witnesses

CHASE, B.C. — A single-vehicle collision killed a 27-year-old man from Chase last weekend.

Chase RCMP say a white Chevrolet pickup truck left the roadway on Kamloops Shuswap Road near Pritchard at around 11:30 p.m. Friday (Dec. 6) and struck a tree.

Despite efforts by first responders and Good Samaritans, RCMP say the 27-year-old man succumbed to his injuries at the scene while the second occupant in the truck – a 22-year-old man from Chase – survived.

In a news release issued Thursday (Dec. 12), RCMP say the investigation is in its early stages and the cause of the collision is currently unknown.

“We are looking for dash camera or video surveillance footage of Kamloops Shuswap Road between Kamloops and Pritchard,” Cst. Sarah Van Wilgenburg says. “We would also like to speak with anyone who may have passed the scene before emergency services arrived or who may have information pertinent to the investigation”.
