Cougars acquire Merritt native Corbin Vaughan from Regina
PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Cougars have acquired Merritt native Corbin Vaughan from the Regina Pats.
The BC Division leading Cougars sent 19-year-old defenceman Ephram McNutt and a second-round selection in the 2025 WHL Prospect’s Draft to the Pats in exchange for the 18-year-old Vaughan.
Vaughan has four goals and 14 points in 98 WHL games with Regina. He has three assists in 13 games this season, though he hasn’t played since Nov. 10 after he was suspended by the Pats for a “hockey-related matter.”
Sunday’s trade comes almost a month after Corbin’s twin brother, Jaxsin, was traded from Regina to the WHL-leading Everett Silvertips. Since that November trade, Jaxsin has recorded two assists in nine games.
