Snowfall warning issued on Coquihalla between Hope and Merritt
KAMLOOPS — Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Hope to Merritt section of the Coquihalla, with 15 to 25 centimetres of snow expected this weekend.
It says snow is expected to fall between Saturday (Dec. 7) and Sunday afternoon, leading to some difficult driving conditions.
“A strong Pacific low pressure system will arrive tonight to the south coast,” Environment Canada said, in its warning.
“Moderate rain is expected tonight to tomorrow morning. Rain will transition to snow, at times heavy, tomorrow afternoon, then periods of moderate flurries through the night. Snow is expected to ease in Sunday afternoon.”
