Poor weather delays opening at Overlander Ski Club near Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — The Overlander Ski Club will not be opening for the season Friday (Dec. 6) as planned because of poor weather.

The Nordic ski trails at Stake Lake, south of Kamloops, are “super sticky and wet” because of unforecasted rain this morning.

“Last night [we] put in lots of work to get the trails in nice skiing shape again and they were looking pretty good,” Overlander Ski Club General Manager Chelsea Francis said, in a post on Facebook.

“This unforecasted rain that has been pouring down all morning has totally ruined our plans at the moment though. The trails are super sticky and wet right now, and apparently the surrounding roads are quite icy.”
