KAMLOOPS – Christmas is right around the corner and there are plenty of ways to get into the Christmas spirit. The North Shore Business Improvement Association will be hosting a Community Christmas event this Saturday (Dec. 7).

The celebration will feature plenty of familiar faces including Santa Claus, the Grinch, and mascots Digger from the Kamloops Blazers and Homer from the NorthPaws. There will be an area to roast marshmallows and free hot chocolate or coffee will be provided from Kamloops McDonald’s.

Other activities include face painting and performances by dancers and singers. Kamloops Art Party will be selling maple syrup on ice as well.

The event will run from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday night and is a great way to bring businesses and the community together for the holidays.

“Last year and this year was the first time we did it at Spirit Square,” said NSBIA Marketing Director Patti Phillips. “Jeremy Kneeshaw is going to be here singing Christmas carols, so he’ll be singing with all the children. Santa Claus will light the Christmas tree, so all the children will come around the tree with him and they will actually light up the tree with him. It’s all very magical. Bring the whole family. There’s something for every age here. It’s just a super, super fun time. It’s a great way for Kamloops to kick off Christmas.”
