WolfPack basketball teams split Friday night showdown against U of S Huskies
KAMLOOPS — Veteran guard Asher Mayan had a game-high 25 points as as the Thompson Rivers University (TRU) WolfPack men’s basketball team beat the Saskatchewan Huskies 92-84 at the TCC Friday night (Nov. 29).
Mayan was 7-11 from the floor, 5-7 from three-point range and 6-6 from the free-throw line for the WolfPack, who led for over 35 minutes on the night. Dami Farinloye added 16 points while Cyrus Harrison chipped in with a 15 point effort.
The WolfPack move into a tie with Trinity Western for third in the Pacific Division with a 4-5 record, while the 0-7 Huskies are still searching for their first win of the season.
Over in women’s basketball action, the nationally ranked Huskies improved to 5-2 aftera blowout 100-28 win over the still winless WolfPack.
