KAMLOOPS — Dylan Ernst made 31 saves for his first shutout of the season as the Kamloops Blazers blanked the Regina Pats 6-0 at Sandman Centre Friday night (Nov. 30).

Tommy Lafreniere and Emmitt Finnie had a goal and two assists each for the Blazers while Nathan Behm added a pair of his own as Kamloops snapped a four game losing streak.

Jordan Keller opened the scoring for the home team just past the five minute mark of the first period, before Finnie doubled the Blazers lead.

Goals from Behm, Lafreniere, and Kai Matthew had the Blazers up 5-0 after two periods, while Behm’s second of the game was the lone goal in the third period.

Ernst picked up his ninth win of the season as the Blazers improve to 12-13-1-0, to sit seventh in the WHL’s Western Conference. Rookie forward Vit Zahejsky also picked up his first WHL point on the night – a primary assist on Behm’s first goal.

Regina’s Kelton Pyne stopped 16 of 21 shots in 34:47 of action to pick up the loss. Ewan Huet then allowed one goal on 21 shots in 25:13 of relief work, as the Pats remain at the bottom of the WHL standings at 6-14-2-2.
