KAMLOOPS– Kamloops Mounties are gearing up to transform one of their police cruisers into Santa’s sleigh for their annual “Stuff the Cruiser” event, set to take place this Saturday (Nov. 30) outside Toys ‘R’ Us on Notre Dame Drive.

Police officers and volunteers will be collecting new unwrapped toys, gift cards, and cash donations to benefit children and teens in the Kamloops area.

“This is one of our long-standing community collaborations. We’ve consistently partnered with Christmas Amalgamated, and every year our Crime Prevention Unit, along with Sergeant Safety Bear and our volunteer team, comes out to spread a little Christmas cheer,” explained Cpl. Dana Napier of the Kamloops RCMP.

Last year’s event gathered about $8,000 worth of donations for Christmas Amalgamated and Napier’s hopeful this year’s event will see similar success.

“We’re always aiming to collect a bit more than the previous year,” said Napier. “These gifts go to Christmas Amalgamated, who distribute them based on age and suitability throughout the community. Our goal is to ensure everyone has something special this winter holiday.”

“Stuff the Cruiser” will be set up outside of Toys ‘R’ Us at 500 Notre Dame Drive on Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
