KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers dropped their fourth straight game Wednesday (Nov. 27) after falling to the Spokane Chiefs on the road 6-2.

Wednesday started well for the Blazers with Emmitt Finnie setting up Oren Shtrom for a shorthanded goal in front of the net nearly three minutes into the first period.

The Chiefs would tie the game before the end of the first and added two more goals in the second to go up 3-1. But the Blazers set themselves up for a competitive third period with Tommy Lafreniere scoring his 10th goal of the season and completing and give-and-go play with Kai Matthew.

However, the Chiefs put the game away in the third by scoring three goals, including two power play markers, to secure the 6-2 win. The Chiefs went 3/7 on the power play while the Blazers went 0/5.

The Blazers fall to 11-13-1-0 on the 2024-25 Western Hockey League (WHL) season, good for 23 points in 25 games. They’ve eighth in the WHL Western Conference and fourth in the B.C. Division.
