Highly touted WolfPack talk hype train, aiming to get back on track after losses

KAMLOOPS — Heads began to turn when the TRU WolfPack women’s volleyball team swept the Manitoba Bisons, who were ranked No. 1 in a Canada West pre-season coaches’ poll.

The WolfPack stayed perfect with two wins over the UBC Okanagan Heat of Kelowna and vaulted to fourth in the U Sports Top 10 rankings.

TRU’s women’s volleyball squad has never been ranked that high since joining the top level of Canadian university sports in 2005.

But the WolfPack hype-train momentum slowed this past weekend, with a pair of losses to the Fraser Valley Cascades (7-1) in Abbotsford.

As CFJC Today reports, the WolfPack (4-2) are aiming to get back on track this weekend against the Trinity Western Spartans (5-3) of Langley at the TCC.

Match time is slated for 7:15 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 22) and 4:45 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 23).

The WolfPack (2-4) are also playing host to the Spartans (5-3) on the men’s side.

First serve is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Friday and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
