KAMLOOPS — Residents in the 100 Mile, Cariboo, Nicola and South Thompson regions are being warned of strong winds starting Tuesday (Nov. 19) afternoon.
A special weather statement issued by Environment Canada states strong winds are expected to last until Wednesday (Nov. 20), but the peak wind speeds are expected Tuesday night.
The weather agency says it’s due to a significant fall storm approaching the coast that will rapidly deepen late Tuesday then curl northward on Wednesday.
Strong winds may knock down trees, break branches, cause power outages and delay traffic. Residents are encouraged to secure loose outdoor objects before the strong winds arrive.
