KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Bowbenders archery club has some of its equipment back.

The club lost much of its gear in a theft at the Hillside Drive archery range captured on surveillance video late last month.

A spokesperson for the Kamloops RCMP says a number of items were recovered in a bushy area off Westsyde Road on Tuesday (Nov. 12).

“As part of the investigative process, police were led to an area outside of town, where many items belonging to the group were located and retrieved by officers,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn. “Evidence was seized for forensic examination and the rest of the items were returned to the club.”

The recovered items include bows, arrows, hats, shirts, armguards and gloves.

“We’re really happy to have gotten some of our stuff back,” said the Bowbenders’ Katie Britton. “It’s good because now we can start to plan for our beginners’ programs again.”

Britton adds the club will now go over the recovered gear to determine if it can still be used and determine what might still be missing.

No arrests have been made and RCMP are still asking the public for help tracking down the suspects based on surveillance photos and an image of a the lifted Dodge Ram pickup truck they were driving.
