Kamloops Blazers go up early, hang on late for 4-3 victory over Saskatoon Blades Saturday

KAMLOOPS — In the Western Hockey League, the Kamloops Blazers jumped out to a 4-0 lead, then held on for a 4-3 victory over the Eastern Conference-leading Saskatoon Blades at Sandman Centre Saturday night (Nov. 9).

Kamloops got goals from Emmitt Finnie, Matteo Koci, Kai Matthew and Nathan Behm, who added two assists.

The Blades stormed back in the second period with Ben Riche scoring two goals 38 seconds apart. Brandon Lisowsky brought Saskatoon within one late in the second.

Logan Edmonstone made 30 saves in the Blazer goal to secure the victory. For Saskatoon, Evan Gardner stopped all 16 shots he faced after entering in relief of Ethan McCallum, who allowed 4 goals on 21 shots.
