Toxic drug alert issued for Williams Lake

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Interior Health has issued an alert for Williams Lake-area residents who use drugs.

The health authority says the alert was prompted by an uptick in overdoses from drug poisoning in the area in recent days. Some of those overdoses have proven fatal.

The alert will remain in effect for one week, until Friday, November 15.

Those who use drugs are advised to check their drugs for toxicity and to never use alone.
