KAMLOOPS — Ashcroft Mayor Barbara Roden has fended off a challenge and will carry on as chair of the Thompson-Nicola Regional District’s Board of Directors.
Roden — who has been chair since 2022 — beat Electoral Area “I” (Blue Sky Country) Director Tricia Thorpe in a secret ballot during Thursday’s (Nov. 7) inaugural board meeting.
“We’re at the midway point of this term. The last two years have seen the TNRD move forward from the events of the previous term, without distractions from the many important things that the TNRD is doing,” Roden said, in a statement.
“It is a tremendous honour to have been endorsed as Chair for a third year by my fellow directors. I am grateful that they have put their trust in me again, as we all move forward to accomplish the goals set out in our Strategic Plan and to continue to serve the needs of the residents of the TNRD.”
