Overlanders Bridge unscathed after Wednesday night bonfire
KAMLOOPS — A bonfire under the north end of the Overlanders Bridge caught the eye of some Kamloops residents Wednesday (Nov. 6) night.
Images captured by the City of Kamloops’ webcam showed orange flames and large plumes of smoke during the 9:00 p.m. hour. Kamloops Fire Rescue (KFR) made quick work of the bonfire, saying it’s a consistent issue.
“Probably created a whole bunch of extra smoke because of everything being so damp, and the cooler temperatures right now, but it’s an area that crews have responded to before and it’s a transient issue,” Will Harlock, KFR platoon captain, says.
