New TNRD fire hall in Monte Creek taking shape

KAMLOOPS — Construction has begun on the new fire hall for Monte Creek.

The Thompson Nicola Regional District (TNRD) says design work on the new hall was completed over the summer and construction on the property at 1257 Hook Road began earlier this month.

In May, the TNRD Board of Directors awarded a $1.045-million contract for the project to West Alliance Construction.

Residents voted in favour of the fire protection service in 2022.

Structural protection began in 2023 out of a temporary base in the Pritchard fire hall. It serves 356 properties in the areas of Monte Creek, Del Oro, Lafarge and a portion of Barnhartvale.
