Blazers’ win streak ends at four following 3-1 loss to Giants

Oct 28, 2024 | 6:00 AM

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers’ four-game winning streak came to an end Sunday (Oct. 27) with a 3-1 loss on the road to the Vancouver Giants.

After surrendering the first goal late in the first period, the Blazers tied it up in the second with Conner Radke scoring his first goal of the season on a breakaway.

However, a familiar foe would cost the Blazers on Sunday. Connor Levis, who spent the better part of four seasons with the Blazers before being shipped to the Giants during the 2024 Western Hockey League (WHL) trade deadline, scored the game winning goal for Vancouver by pouncing on a rebound.

The Giants added an empty net goal with six seconds remaining to secure the 3-1 win.

The Blazers fall to 6-7-1-0 on the 2024-25 WHL season, good for 13 points in 14 games. They’re eighth in the WHL Western Conference and fourth in the B.C. Division.

The Blazers return home Friday (Nov. 1) to welcome the Prince George Cougars to Sandman Centre. Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m.
