Pritchard water, sewer system upgrades in the works
PRITCHARD, B.C. — The community of Pritchard is on its way to getting a new water treatment plant.
The Thompson Nicola Regional District has announced its board of directors awarded a contract to build the filtration plant to True Construction of Kamloops. The contract’s value is a maximum of $4.75 million, though the total cost of the project, including engineering and design, is $6.15 million.
The federal government is funding the vast majority of the project through a pair of grant programs — the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program and the Growing Communities Fund. The remaining $150,000 is coming out of the Pritchard Community Water System reserve fund.
The filtration plant is slated to be up and running by late 2025.
