Lillooet emergency department temporarily closed for second time in three days

LILLOOET, B.C. — The emergency department in Lillooet is once again temporarily closed for 25 hours.
In a news release issued Sunday evening, Interior Health says the emergency department at Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre will be unavailable from 7:00 a.m. Monday (Oct. 21) to 8:00 a.m. Tuesday due to limited physician availability. All other inpatient services will continue as normal at Lillooet Hospital.
Residents in the area who need life-threatening emergency care are asked to call 9-1-1 or travel to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops during the 25-hour closure.
It’s the second temporary closure of the Lillooet emergency department in three days and 17th overall in 2024.
