KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers have won back-to-back games for the first time this season.

Tommy Lafreniere scored twice and Ty Bonkowski and Samuel Borschowa added singles for the Blazers in a 4-1 victory over the Wenatchee Wild on Saturday (Oct. 19) at Sandman Centre.

Bonkowski’s marker was the first goal of his WHL career.

Kamloops netminder Dylan Ernst stopped 26 shots to pick up the win between the pipes.

Kenta Isogai scored for the Wild at 9:28 of the third period to end Ernst’s bid for a shutout.

Wenatchee goaltender Zach Zahara allowed four goals on 25 shots and was replaced after the second intermission by backup Noah Stenvig, who stopped all 15 shots that came his way.

The Blazers (4-6-1-0) are scheduled to host the Victoria Royals (6-1-1-1) on Tuesday (Oct. 22), a 7 p.m. start at Sandman Centre.
