Thousands of Kamloops-area residents go to the polls in first day of advance voting
KAMLOOPS — B.C. saw a record number of voters cast ballots in the first day of advance voting for the provincial election.
According to Elections BC, 171,381 people went to the polls on Thursday (Oct. 10). That’s the highest-ever total for one day of advance voting.
In Kamloops-North Thompson, 1,312 people cast ballots Thursday, representing 2.7 per cent of eligible voters in the riding.
Turnout was higher in Kamloops Centre, with 2,842 people heading to the polls, or 6.5 per cent of registered voters.
