Suspect arrested at scene of North Shore break-in

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP believe they have the person responsible for a late night break-in on North Shore Tuesday (Oct. 8) in custody.

In a news release, spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says police were called to the 100-block of Chestnut Avenue at about 10:00 p.m. Tuesday. Witnesses reported a person attempting to break into a shed in a yard.

Officers found a suspect and arrested him.

“As part of the investigation, officers also seized a baton and break-in instruments,” said Evelyn. “The man was held in custody for a bail hearing scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.”

Kamloops resident Jordan Colin Christopher Dent, 29, is facing charges of break and enter, possession of a break-in instrument and breach of an undertaking by possessing a prohibited weapon.

Dent is in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
