Dog attacks cyclist near Salmon Arm; CSRD investigating

SILVER CREEK, B.C. — The Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) says it is investigating a dog attack that occurred Thursday (Oct. 3) in Silver Creek, south of Salmon Arm.

In a news release, the CSRD says complaints were filed after a dog reportedly injured a cyclist. The district says it is working with the RCMP to ensure all necessary steps are taken to address the attack.

“At this time, the investigation remains ongoing, and the CSRD is unable to provide further details,” the district states. “However, we acknowledge the seriousness of the situation and are committed to ensuring appropriate actions will be taken following a thorough investigation.”

Anyone who witnessed the reported dog attack is asked to submit any relevant information to the CSRD’s dog control complaint form.
