Blazers name Finnie 38th captain in franchise history

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers unveiled their leadership group for the 2024-25 Western Hockey League (WHL) season.
Emmitt Finnie will be the Blazers’ 38th captain in franchise history. The 19-year-old forward recently returned from the Detroit Red Wings training camp. He was selected 201st overall by the Red Wings in the seventh round of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
Finnie has spent three seasons with the Blazers. He scored 19 goals and 59 points in 62 games in 2023-24.
Rounding out the leadership group is 19-year-old forward and Kamloops local Jordan Keller, 19-year-old defenceman Ryan Michael and 18-year-old defenceman Harrison Brunicke. As of publication, Brunicke has not been reassigned to the Blazers from the Pittsburgh Penguins training camp.
