Man arrested after reportedly pointing gun at someone up Jamieson Creek Forest Service Road
KAMLOOPS — A man was arrested after reportedly pointing a gun at someone at a camp up Jamieson Creek Forest Service Road north of Kamloops.
Tk’emlups Rural RCMP were called to the area on Monday (Sept. 30) and carried out extensive patrols but did not find the man. However, with the help from RCMP Air Services and the Southeast District Emergency Response Team, Kamloops RCMP say the man was found and arrested the following day (Oct. 1).
In a news release issued Wednesday (Oct. 2), RCMP say the man remains in custody for a bail hearing.
Kamloops RCMP Supt. Jeff Pelley states the Jamieson Creek incident was the third high-risk situation in 24 hours that ended with a safe arrest. It follows the report of a suicidal person who claimed to be in possession of a gun and walking toward Halston Bridge at around 10:00 p.m. Monday and a reported assault on Rose Hill Road Tuesday morning.
