BC Wildfire Service: Pile burning expected on Thursday near Sun Peaks

SUN PEAKS — Smoke from pile burning will be visible from Sun Peaks on Thursday (Oct. 3), according to a BC Wildfire Service press release.
The service and Sun Peaks Resort are partnering on the wildfire risk reduction project, which will take place about four kilometres northeast of Sun Peaks at Tod Mountain.
Pile burns aim to reduce accumulations of fuels, such as dead wood and brush, and will proceed only if conditions are favourable.
