Firefighters from all over the world come to Kamloops to compete in FireFit Championships

KAMLOOPS– Over the weekend, the FireFit World and Canadian Championships finished up competition in Kamloops.
More than 350 firefighters from around the world gathered in the Tournament Capital for the five-day event, competing in challenges that first responders are tasked with every day during real-life emergencies. The challenges included hose hoists, forcible entry and victim rescues.
It’s the first time Kamloops has ever hosted the event, welcoming participants from countries like Denmark, Norway, Slovenia, Germany, Poland and the USA. Canada was also represented as firefighters from all over the province competed at McArthur Island to achieve their personal bests.
