Blazers acquire F Szabo from Oil Kings for pick

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers have imported some veteran help for their forward group from the Edmonton Oil Kings.
Monday (Sept. 30), the team announced the acquisition of 2005-born forward John Szabo from Edmonton in exchange for a sixth-round selection in the 2027 WHL Prospects Draft.
Szabo, from Lethbridge, has spent his entire 140-game WHL career in Edmonton, registering 10 goals and 19 assists for 29 points. He was a part of the Oil Kings’ 2021-22 WHL championship team.
The Blazers say Szabo will join the team this week and make his debut on the road in weekend games against Vancouver and Wenatchee.
