Candidate field set for October 19 BC election
KAMLOOPS — The candidate field has been set for the 2024 provincial election, with the deadline to file nomination papers having passed at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday (Sept. 28).
There are a few last-minute ballot alterations in the Kamloops area.
John Kidder, previously announced as the B.C. Green Party candidate for Cariboo-Chilcotin, will not appear on the ballot. The only choices for Cariboo-Chilcotin voters will be Lorne Doerkson of the BC Conservatives and Michael Moses of the BC NDP.
Chase-area farmer Tristan Cavers will carry the Green banner in Kamloops-North Thompson. Cavers is the brother of former Green candidate and former Kamloops councillor Donovan Cavers. The other two candidates in Kamloops-North Thompson are the BC NDP’s Maddi Genn and Ward Stamer of the BC Conservatives.
