Zulinick nets OT winner, lifts Storm to victory over hometown Centennials

MERRITT — Aaron Zulinick was the overtime hero for the Kamloops Storm, who edged the hometown Merritt Centennials 4-3 on Friday (Sept. 27) in Kootenay International Junior Hockey League action.

Zulinick scored twice, with Riddick Feely and Noah Paulsen adding singles in support of goaltender Brenner Fyfe, who made 37 saves to pick up the win between the pipes.

Wyatt Ball, Steven Foster and Dylan Ruff scored for the Centennials, with netminder Andrew Krakora making 37 saves in a losing effort.

Kamloops is 2-1-0-0 on the season, while Merritt is 1-1-1-0.

The Coquihalla Clash took place for the first time in regular season KIJHL play, with expansion Merritt having joined the circuit in time for the 2024-2025 campaign.

The Storm are scheduled to play the Posse (1-0-0-1) on Saturday, a 7 p.m. start in Princeton.

The Cents are slated to play the Eagles (1-2-0-0) on Saturday, a 7 p.m. puck-drop in Sicamous.
