TRU WolfPack soccer teams shut out at Hillside

KAMLOOPS — Neither of the TRU WolfPack soccer teams managed to register a goal against the UBC Thunderbirds in Canada West action on Friday (Sept. 27) at Hillside Stadium.

On the women’s side, the T-Birds — the No. 1-ranked U Sports women’s soccer club — prevailed 3-0 to improve to 7-0 this season.

The WolfPack dropped to 2-5-1 and sit tied for fifth in Canada West standings. The top four teams will qualify for the post-season.

TRU will play host to the UNBC Timberwolves (1-6) on Saturday (Sept. 28), a 5 p.m. start at Hillside Stadium.

On the men’s side, the WolfPack suffered a gut-wrenching defeat on Friday, with UBC tallying in the third minute of extra time in the second half to win 1-0.

TRU goalkeeper Olivier Jumeau made six saves in a losing effort.

UBC is 6-0-2 this season, while TRU dropped to 1-7-1.

The Pack will host the Victoria Vikes (6-1-3) on Saturday, a 7:30 p.m. start at Hillside Stadium.
